Good times! First college xc race. Warmed up, then they started the race 15 minutes early than I thought, so I rushed to the line and then they said on your mark and shot the gun! One of the stanford twins took off and led the first part. Came through the mile with mckay and ethan shuley. 4:55. Then the next mile stayed with them and we dropped from the front pack. 5:01 Then lots of guys started dropping from the top pack and came back to us. I dropped from mckay and ethan. 5:10. I found some energy and started reeling mckay and ethan in and caught them at 4.1 miles. 5:04. Kicked in the last .3 to finish the race in 9th and passed 3 guys (McKay, ethan, and Devine pancake). Happy with the first race... rust buster! Happy and surprised with the turn out! Thx to the stanford twins parents for taking is out to dinner after! |
