Probably the best run ever cuz I finally got to run with the team and I felt really great today on the run.  .5 warm up with the team then went into Lambert then looped back to the park and then Galen Craik Will and I went and through Redford Run onto Mountain run. Galen and I did an ultra tactical race for poduim which is kicking it in the last about 15 meters.  I barely got him at the line and it felt so good to get moving fast just for that much.  

Shout out to everyone who is leaving on their missions and especially Connor, Asa, and Spencer because they all gave amazing and spiritual farewell talks.

Basketball for like 4.5 hours which is brutal.  Haha I was exhausted by the end.  Tons of people came so that made it super sick!  Possibly the last time I see Connor and Asa in 3 years so that is super sad but they will be excellent missionaries!

Second workout that I've done this year.  It went pretty well.  3 x mile repeats. Warmed up 2 miles then hit 5:18, then a slower mile, then 5:07, then a slower mile and then 5:15.  Felt like I could have done better on that last one but my back was tightening up a tiny bit the last quarter mile so I didn't want to cause any problems so I just backed off a bit.  But really happy with how the workout went.

Was planning on running by myself cuz I was going to go hiking in the morning but I slept through my alarm... smh. So I went to practice, 7.75 plus strides.  Dropped Ryan off at his house then went through part of timberline loop and to dumpster and then a mile barefoot at the park.  Gonna do an easy 3 or 4 in the afternoon to get some heat runs in.  Was planning on running by myself cuz I was going to go hiking in the morning but I slept through my alarm... smh.

Night run with Joe Simmons.  Did 5 mile loop which got us 5.3.  Was a really good run.  Talked for a while after, Joe is a good guy and I'm excited to see what he does in college!

Pretty tired today from the 13 miles yesterday. Both of the runs were at a pretty decent pace.  haha now I know how Galen felt at pre-region.  Plan was to do 4x 666m hill repeats.  But after the first 3 our coach told us we were going to do 5 and I kind of mentally lost it and my hamstrings were way tight so I slowed down.  Hit 2:22 2:23 and then we decided to have a new finish line that was like 5 seconds infront so I hit 2:15, then I was wrecked and knew we had two more and hit 2:22, and 2:22 for the last which converts to 2:27 which is still faster then we went last year. Gonna run more tonight so if anyone wants to let me know.

4 miles with Spencer on Bonneville!  It was a good run!

Really easy mileage.  First 6 were with the girls then Seth, Trevor, Justin, Coach, and I went and added on 3 more.  Getting so stoked for camp and racing and the season!

Woke up late because I slept through my alarm.  Josh just took the car and drove off to go run Hogs even though we were doing a flat run so idk what he was doing.  Then I ran over to Mountain Ridge to see if I could find anyone who raced the Highland Fling 5k but they had already finished and were probably on a cool down.  So I ran to the park so I could find the guys when they got back from lehi dip.  Did a mile and a half loop and then Ryan and Justin finished their run.  Then Ryan and I ran over to the mouth of the canyon while everyone else drove.  Then we iced and then Justin had me over to his house for waffles so shout out to him.  Pace was a bit quick, 6:27 but it felt very comfortable.  

And unshout out to tyler cuz he was lame and wouldn't come out and talk to Spencer and I.

Good day today!  Wasn't feeling the best but still was a good run.  We did a modest run, played two games, and then ran back.  It was 3 even getting there so 6 total plus with two twelve minute games we got some solid mileage.  Also we leave to camp tomorrow so I'm stoked for that!

Shout out to Watson because I saw her on her run!

Easy day today.  Warm up, then to the start of the Alpine days 5k.  We ran the course at a super easy pace, then Ryan said to do a 2 mile tempo at 6:00 pace then 2 more miles at 7 flat pace.  Felt tired but it was pretty easy.  We were talking the whole time and went 5:48 then 6:03 on the tempo so right where we were supposed to be.  We also had a ping pong tournament at my house after which was a good time!

Also last time seeing spencer in at least 3 years so that is sad!  He has been a really great friend and will be missed!

Ran up a crazy hill!  Basically like the wall but for 2 miles.  Lol, I only stopped and walked once for 10 seconds, and 2 times for like 2 seconds.  It was so brutal.  Also it was cold so my legs were dying.  

Easy 4 in the night

Also shout out to Dawson because together we won the canoe race as well as spikeball.  We also had a game of volleyball set up, Dawson, Ali, Amanda and I versus Coach Ryby, Coach Courtney, and their spouses but ryan got injured while playing soccer against us so we couldn't do it.

First 5 going up were calm (except for kaleb pushing the pace), then next 5 were a tempo run, seth wasn't feeling too good but he raged on the hills yesterday but Craik was feeling good so we tempoed at 5:45 pace for the 5 miles.  It felt pretty good!  We also played a lot of soccer, volleyball, and cards.  It was super fun!  Our night run was chasing cows cuz some cows escaped but it was only the varsity guys.  The rest did a service project and pick up rocks in a field so the owner could plow the field so after we got the cows in we helped with them.

10 death miles lol.  First 2 felt alright but the muscles that lift the legs were dead and it was a big elevation gain so the rest of the 5 out were tough like 8-9 minute pace.  Then we tempoed down which felt good, just 6:15 pace so it wasn't hard.  Tomorrow we have the Alpine Days 5k so I'll be looking towards breaking 20 with how my legs are feeling.

Fun day today even though I was completely destroyed from the past week.  Warmed up just under a mile and a half and did a few strides.  Race started and Seth, Justin, Craik, Kaleb, Lil' Warner, Josh and I broke from the pack pretty quick.  Then Seth started going ahead so I went with him.  We hit the mile at 5:04.  After this he was a little tired so he slowed a tiny bit so I tried to surge and get a gap on him but he responded and then he tried to do it on me but I responded as well.  We came through at 10:08 for 2 miles and then we hit cemetery hill and I died. lol.  I was football shuffling up it (probably even slower then that) because ever since the first day of camp when we ran up the 2300 elevation gain my legs haven't been able to handle up hill well.  Seth pulled away by like 75 meters.  I finally made it up the hill and went on the chase.  I cruised down and was chasing him all the way back.  Mile 3 was a 5:13 so that put me at 15:21.  Then we kicked it in and I had chased down seth to like 5 meters but he got me so shout out to him!  Last part was 4:40 pace in 31 seconds.  Felt exhausted from camp but felt strong during the race so I'm excited for when I am well rested!  Cooled down, got to stand on the podium, then went with Galen and Lil' Warner on 5 mile loop with a few little cuts.  So got 70 miles on the week.

Much needed recovery run... but it was still 9 miles so it was tough.  Did extended mountain run and added on timberline loop.  

1 mile running down the Y.  We just hiked up it then josh and I ran down.

Pretty rough run.  Would have been better running alone because everyone else was complaining and we were going slow.  First 2.5 miles were like 8:30 pace and then I said that I was going to run black trail and actually run.  averaged 6:50 for the rest of our run, at least kaleb and I.  Everyone else dropped off.  Our team is having problems right now,  Seth out with wisdom teeth, Justin with his tailbone and probably sick right now, craik's knee only allowed him to go 3 today, and everyone else just went slow.  We got to get our team back together.  Also milesplit came out with recruiting rankings and they are pretty cool.

Good but tough workout tonight.  5x1000.  Seth wasn't there and neither was Justin so I was running most of it on my own.  Kaleb, Craik, and Josh were just a little bit behind. 2.2 mile warmup.  For the 1000's I was happy with the times I hit.  I went 3:04, 3:04, 3:02, 3:01, then 3:00.  Cooled down 2 miles then went straight to stake dodgeball.  After I went around the block to get my mileage up to 8 today.

Felt really tired for the first 3 miles but it was up hill so that could be why.  Then went a mile and a half more then we tempoed down from 5 mile loop.  Went 5:30's for the first 3 then Justin and I were the only ones with josh just a bit behind because everyone else followed Seth who is getting back from wisdom teeth so he just tempoed 2ish miles.  We hit like 16:30 for the 3 miles then we decided just to hit a 6:00 since that was the pace that coach said.  Felt really good after the first 3.  Also shout out to everyone who slayed yesterday.

Also this year's motto for Lone Peak is "This is our kingdom!"  We were pushing for "Trample the weak, hurdle the dead"  At least this one is better then "Reach your peak" cuz who wants to peak in high school?

Did Hogs today.  First 4 felt exhausted but felt better after then other then my foot which I rolled  at xc camp was hurting a lot today.  Squad was Jake Bybee, Seth, Seth's older bro, Josh, Justin, and I.  After Justin, Josh, Jake and I had breakfast at Justin's house and played pool which was fun.

Tough workout today.  It was also the first day we had run in the heat so that was tough.  I had a pretty solid workout, everyone else either dropped off hard or didn't do the full thing because of injury.  Did 1000 800 1000 800 800 800.  Hit 3:06 then 2:24 then 3:07 then 2:27 2:26 and 2:27.  It was on the grass.  On my watch when I set up the course I got .50 exact but when I did it as the workout I got .51-.53 so it was  little long, the 1000 was .65 for both so a little long.  

Also shout out to all the people who visited Tyler and I at the snow shack on saturday, and shout out to brynlee because she saw me at Kohl's... but I guess I don't pay much attention because I didn't see her.

Rumor has it that Dana Hills will be at the Viking invitational so that makes the preseason #1 and #2 coming to the Viking invite so be there or be square!

Good hill workout today.  Tough because my body wasn't awake since we did it at 6:30 in the morning with our cross country class.  Went 1:59,1:57,1:56, 1:57, 1:58, 2:00.  Slower then I would have liked but still pretty happy with the effort that I was able to put in.  Team wasn't completely there, but we will be completely healthy soon! cooled down 2.5. 

Ran the 25 minutes with the team after school.  Went 3.25 at 7:23 pace.  Then iced after.

Tough run, felt pretty exhausted. My boss called and thought I was supposed to be working so I was worried but then we realized I wasn't but they needed help, so I went straight from running to help there.  Was gonna ice but couldn't because of that.  Oh well.  I'll just roll out.

Grass Relay's today was super sick!  I ran first, then Craik, then Justin, then Kaleb, and then Seth.  We watched the other people race and cheered for them and then warmed up.  I went out and decided that today was the day to see what I could do with Casey.  Stuck right next to him first mile but he made a move and I couldn't match and wasted so much energy trying to match.  Grant Gardner then passed me and it stayed like that the whole race.  Got 3rd out of the first runners and only Patrick and Mckay beat my time in other heats.  Pretty happy with my race.  Team got 4th and we should have done better but oh well.  We'll get it when it really matters.  

Was gonna go more later tonight but I had work, then went to my other job, then partied hard at the black light dance and was destroyed so I didn't.

Got to the race and felt fine.  Warmed up and then did some strides.  Went out and our coach said for us to try going for it so I went with the top pack again.  Held first mile and went 4:57.  Then my back tightened up pretty bad that I had to back off from there.  By the end I did not care and didn't even kick it in til I heard that carson clinger was right behind me and decided that I didn't want him to beat me so I kick the last 40 meters.  Pretty bad.  Gonna go see some byu athletic trainer soon so that hopefully he can fix up my back.
